Our share from Orchard Country Produce was part of our family’s effort to eat more vegetables and fresh, local food. In the last two years, we have tried some new vegetables we would have never picked up at the grocery store that have turned into delicious new meals in our dinner rotation. Daikon radish fries, quiche with rainbow chard and gouda, to name a few. And we also get our staple favorites, like heirloom tomatoes, strawberries, fresh apple cider, and the biggest sweet potatoes we’ve ever seen. The flavor of the organic, local stuff beats the grocery store in our family taste tests. We’ve really enjoyed the adventure of getting a new box every week during the season, and find the price quite reasonable. Our cat also loves the box – fresh greens and corn husks are his favorites!
