Merry Christmas and Happy New Year! from OCP!

Dear Friends
We hope that you had a lovely Christmas and that you will have a great New Year!

FARM NEWS!

We are cleaning up the fields, repairing buildings, pruning and doing some personal projects.  We still have red beets, Brussels sprouts, broccoli, and turnips in the fields.
We have ordered a tractor trailer load of compost to start a new asparagus patch.  We purchased the corms and they will be arriving in March. We have also purchased some new plum trees which will be arriving in early April.
We put plastic on the two high tunnels back in November and they are doing well.  We are anxious to see how much warmer the tunnels will be in January and February.
We are still picking spinach, lettuce, radishes, kale and chard from the tunnels for the St Luke’s winter farm stand.
Market News!

We are planning to be back at each market again this year.

St Luke’s on Saturday is a year round farm stand and will be open starting Saturday, January 8.

We plan to be back a Belle View and Columbia on Thursdays and Fairfax on Saturdays as well as St Luke’s on Tuesdays beginning in June.
CSA News!

We are planning to keep everything the same for the CSA for 2022.  I am working on the website to change all the dates and pertinent information.  We have a new website and I am still learning how to do the simple tasks so it might take me a bit of time.

We will be ready to take new subscriptions for 2022 beginning in January.
There will be two 12 week sessions.

First session – June 6 – August 27 – $375

Second session August 29 – November 19 – $375

You can add one dozen eggs for $60 or one-half dozen eggs for $36.

If you sign up and pay up for the full year 24 weeks before April 30 – the price is $700
You can add eggs for one dozen – $120 or one-half dozen for $72.

If you have any questions please send an email, we would love to hear from you.
If anyone would like to come to visit the farm during the winter, we would love to have you, email and let us know when you can come.
We are always looking forward to the new year.  We love to plan how to make things better and what to do differently.  We hope you will be excited about our plans when we finally get them to market!

On family news Oliver and Elisabeth’s children – Isabelle and Remington are growing ( we do not want to say “like weeds” because weeds are unwelcome, but like happy farm children should!)
Gregg and Louise have gained a couple of grandchildren this year – Virginia has a little girl, Eliza, in May.  That makes three girls for Ginny and Dan.  Sarah had a little boy, Nolan, in November.  That makes three boys and one girl for Sarah and Billy.  And that gives us 23 grandchildren at the moment!

Merry Christmas!
